2018 Summer Workshop Schedule
This summer, RELATE invites you to participate in an intensive communication training workshop from 4:30-7:00 pm on Tuesdays (June 5 - August 14). The workshop is designed for STEM graduate students and postdocs with a defined research project. If you are interested in improving your communication skills and engaging in scientific communication with lay audiences, then the RELATE workshop is for you!
If you participate in the STEM Communication Fundamentals Workshop, you will:
-Learn effective lay-audience communication fundamentals, such as knowing your audience and telling a story with your research
-Build a polished elevator pitch and a short talk, aimed at a lay audience, on your research project or an area of interest in your field
-Practice your developing communication skills with public engagement and outreach opportunities
If you are interested in participating in this summer's workshop, please attend one of our required information sessions:
5-6pm on Tuesday, May 1 in Hatcher Graduate Library Gallery (1st floor)
